What stays on your Mac and what is processed for hosting, support and licensing.

Who to contact

ASYNC DEVELOPMENT - FZCO is the publisher of Verity and is responsible for its own handling of personal information. Our Legal / Contact page lists our registered details. Send privacy questions or requests to contact@asyncdev.com.

Monitoring and local storage

Verity processes watched-file metadata, supported file-content snapshots and activity history locally on your Mac. The Vault is encrypted and its encryption key is held in the macOS Keychain. The licence record is also stored in the Keychain. File paths and snapshots may themselves contain sensitive or personal information.

The app does not send watched paths, file contents, incident history or Vault snapshots to Polar for licence checks. There is no automatic AI upload. If you choose Export for AI, you review a locally redacted preview before copying it. Check that preview carefully: redaction is not guaranteed to remove every sensitive detail. Any service you subsequently share it with has its own privacy terms.

Activation and licence checks

Activation sends Polar your licence key, our organisation identifier and an activation label derived from a randomly generated installation identifier. This label is not your Mac’s hardware serial number. Later validation requests also include the activation and licence-benefit identifiers; deactivation identifies the activation to release.

These requests allow the service to verify your licence and enforce its Mac limit. Polar also receives normal connection information, such as your IP address. Without activation and periodic validation, paid monitoring and Protect cannot remain available beyond the offline allowance.

Purchases and customer support

Polar processes checkout information, such as customer contact, billing and payment information, under its Privacy Policy. Polar and its payment providers handle payment processing. As the software supplier, we may access customer, order and licence information through Polar to fulfil purchases, assist customers and address disputes.

If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Send only information needed to explain the issue. Avoid sending passwords, licence keys, private keys, payment-card details or unredacted incident exports.

Website hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Loading a page or downloading Verity involves processing network information such as your IP address, requested URL and browser request headers. Cloudflare may process request and security information to deliver and protect its services. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

The site’s supplied pages contain no advertising or analytics scripts and do not set application cookies. This does not mean the hosting provider processes no data. Following a purchase or customer-portal link takes you to Polar, where its own privacy and cookie practices apply.

Purposes, recipients and international processing

We use purchase and support information to deliver the licence, answer requests and manage our customer relationship; we also process information when necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these activities rely on contractual necessity, legal obligations or legitimate interests in maintaining security and handling support, subject to the safeguards that law requires.

Relevant recipients include Polar for purchases and licensing, Cloudflare for website delivery, and service providers involved in delivering support communications. Our business is in the UAE and these providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your country. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data; the providers’ notices also describe their processing.

Retention and deletion

Local Vault versions are subject to your retention settings and purge actions. Incident evidence may be retained beyond ordinary version limits. Expiration of the trial or licence does not delete your history or Vault, and uninstalling the app should not be assumed to erase every local record or Keychain item.

Purchase and support information is retained for the purposes described here, including fulfilling licences, resolving outstanding requests or disputes, and meeting applicable accounting or legal requirements. The appropriate period depends on the record and any retention requirement. A request to remove a local installation does not automatically delete Polar’s purchase records. Contact us for help identifying or deleting information we hold; Polar handles requests concerning its own records under its policy.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access or correct information, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, or receive a portable copy. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or resolve claims. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Email contact@asyncdev.com; we may need proportionate information to verify the request.

We will update this notice when our practices change and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
