Terms & License

The terms of your Verity licence, trial, updates and purchases.

Last updated: 9 September 2026

1. Publisher and purchases

Verity is proprietary software supplied by ASYNC DEVELOPMENT - FZCO, a Freezone Company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Our registered address, commercial licence and contact details are on the Legal / Contact page.

Polar is the merchant of record and authorized reseller for purchases through its checkout. You purchase from Polar; Async Development supplies your licence to use Verity. Polar’s Checkout Buyer Terms apply to the transaction alongside these software licence terms. Your mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

2. Your licence

Your purchase grants a non-exclusive licence to use Verity on the number of simultaneously activated Macs in your offer: one Mac for USD 49, or up to three Macs for USD 89. These are one-time payments, not recurring subscriptions. The total price, including any applicable taxes, is shown at checkout; your confirmed order determines the price you pay.

Activate each Mac separately with your Polar licence key. Deactivate a Mac to release a slot. Keep your key private. You may not redistribute or resell the software or keys without permission, except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be restricted. Ownership of Verity and its source code remains with Async Development and its licensors. Separately licensed third-party components retain their own terms.

3. Trial and validation

The fully functional seven-day trial starts on first launch. No card is required and the trial does not automatically charge you. Use the trial to check Verity on your own Mac before buying.

Paid licences require online activation on each Mac. Verity normally checks licences daily and permits up to 72 hours offline from the last successful validation, subject to an earlier licence expiry or revocation. Internet or licensing-service outages can prevent validation and interrupt access after this allowance ends.

Verity displays an in-app warning before access expires. Once the trial or licensed access expires, monitoring and Protect stop; your existing Vault and activity history remain available for review. Keeping those records does not mean new activity is being monitored. In-app warnings require the app to be running.

4. Included updates

Your purchase includes updates released within the major version you purchased. A licence for Verity 1.x includes updates within 1.x; Verity 2.x and later major upgrades are not included and may require a separate purchase.

If you buy during the 0.x release series, your purchase also includes the upgrade to 1.x and all updates released within 1.x.

A one-time payment is not a promise of perpetual compatibility with future macOS versions or a lifetime maintenance service. This does not limit any updates, support or remedies required by applicable law.

5. What Verity can and cannot do

Verity supports macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Observation depends on selected paths, readability, permissions and the app’s operating state. Process attribution and Protect depend on the background helper and the permissions required by macOS.

Verity observes selected filesystem locations and offers scoped execution protection when Protect is enabled. It does not detect every attack or determine that every file is safe or malicious. The initial state is a reference for later changes, not a security verdict. Files already in the baseline, trust rules and executions outside the configured scope can limit protection. Protect does not block file writes.

Protect can interrupt legitimate executions. Requests that require a decision are blocked if unanswered. Closing the main window leaves Verity in the menu bar. Quitting stops filesystem observation and the decision interface; an enabled helper can keep applying its execution policy until the licence deadline or a helper restart. Protect needs to be enabled again after a helper restart.

6. Stored versions and responsibility

The encrypted Vault stores supported, readable file versions, subject to retention and available storage. Some locations are observed through metadata only. Unreadable contents cannot be snapshotted. The Vault and restoration tools do not replace an independent backup. Review a restore before confirming it because restoration changes the target file.

We do not promise complete protection against malware, uninterrupted operation, detection of every change or recovery of every file. These descriptions of product limits do not exclude liability, warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. If Verity fails to perform as described, contact us so we can investigate and provide any remedy required by applicable law.

7. Refunds

Try before you buy. Verity includes a fully functional, 7-day free trial. Please use it to evaluate the app before purchasing. We do not offer refunds for change of mind. This policy does not affect your statutory rights, including any applicable rights relating to faulty software, non-delivery or withdrawal. Purchases are also subject to Polar’s Checkout Buyer Terms.

The free trial or a download does not itself waive your statutory withdrawal rights. Any valid waiver must meet applicable legal requirements.

For support or a request based on your legal rights, email contact@asyncdev.com with your order reference and a description of the issue. Do not send your licence key, card details or sensitive file contents. Payment-related requests are handled in coordination with Polar.

8. Your rights and these terms

Mandatory consumer protections and applicable rights to bring a complaint or claim remain available. Nothing here requires you to surrender protections that apply in your country of residence. Contact us first if you wish to resolve an issue directly; doing so is not a condition for exercising your legal rights.

Material changes to these terms will be communicated as required by applicable law. A website update alone will not remove rights already granted with your purchase. Where consent to a change is legally required, we will seek it.

See our Privacy notice for the information processed by the app, website and licensing services.
